The layout of each Durapile system foundation repair is designed specifically for each job, depending on your needs.

Here's how Land Stabilizers' Durapile system works:

First plywood sheets are placed adjacent to each working area. Any obstructing plants or objects are moved and protected. Special care is taken to minimize the impact to your landscape.

Pile locations are then excavated to a depth of 30 inches below the bottom of the grade-beam. If concrete must be removed, it is sawcut and jackhammered. An excavation of approximately 2.5' x 2.5' is required to access the installation.

Next a hydraulic ram is placed beneath the grade-beam and, using the weight of the structure, a pile section is driven into the ground. Additional pile sections are then aligned and driven until refusal. Typically, the required bearing capacity of the pile is reached when the structure begins to lift during the

driving process. The pressure gauge of the hydraulic ram is also indicative of the bearing capacity of the structure. The Durapile system's outstanding bearing capacity is due to the high "Skin Friction" generated between the driven pile sections and the surrounding soils replaced during driving. Because soils vary in consistency, and structures vary in weight, the depth of the pilings is site specific.

When the pile has been driven to refusal, a pier cap is placed on top of the last driven section and an additional pile is placed on the pier cap.

A 30 to 40-ton jack is placed on the pier cap beneath the grade-beam.

When all piles have been driven, individual jacks are placed in sequence and used to lift and level each section of the slab. The jack system is moved as required to best lift the structure. Some areas of a structure may be adjusted several times before completion. During this phase, all elevations are measured and documented to ensure accurate records.

Once the lifting process is complete, all piles are shimmed using uniform steel plate shims manufactured by Land Stabilizers. Shims are treated with an antirust coating. By using Land Stabilizers' specially manufactured pier caps, shimming is minimized.

The pile locations are backfilled with your original soils, removed concrete is replaced and your landscape is restored.

Finally, the job site is thoroughly cleaned to your satisfaction.
